Since giving birth to my second son and putting both of them into the same room, I’ve been having serious cravings for a more boyish, blue nursery. So to update the gray and white room without spending too much money at all, I swapped out the rug, artwork, crib sheets, and pillow in the room while keeping everything else the same. I placed this adorable seascape print from Minted above James’ crib. Minted has such a great selection of calm, seascape prints that are perfect for a nursery. I was so drawn to the calm, light blue colors, the calming one-third to two-third ratio of the composition, and the sailboat. This is really a nod to his dad, because I know he and his dad will go sailing together someday.
Above Oliver’s crib, I placed a beautiful abstract acrylic painting with blue, white and green colors that I scored on the Etsy shop Pickfair. Isn’t it gorgeous?
And the super soft all wool rug from RugsUSA is awesome and so plush to sink our toes into. It also cleans and vacuums up so nicely.
Here are a few more views of the new room. As you can see I kept things SUPER simple because I wanted the new artwork to be the main highlight. And with the chaos of two small boys and two golden retrievers, simple and sweet (and blue) is just what I needed. :)
