I’ll admit I’ve always secretly hated Halloween – the late night parties, the getting-dressed-up-in-30-degree cold – no thanks. But now that I’m a mom and own my own home, I’m loving the prospect of buying horrible sugar-laden Halloween candy for trick or treaters in the neighborhood, dressing Oliver in a costume, and creatingΒ my Halloween tablescape.
This tablescape came about because the weekend before Oliver arrivedΒ I got so nervous about giving birth that I went on a frenzied spray painting spree. Literally, weΒ painted every corner of the house. I’m sort of glad Oliver came when he did because we never would have gotten those projects done! I was really inspired by this blogger’s black and white decorΒ a few years agoΒ and wanted to reinvent my own, so I took a bunch of wooden and glass candlesticks that I had picked up from Goodwill over the years and spray painted them black. I laid them on top of a natural linen table runner, added black taper candles, faux crows, my Scrabble “Boo” signs, mini white pumpkins from the farmer’s market, and large white pumpkins from the grocery store. It looks soΒ cool when they’re all lit up!
You can see last year’s fall tablescape here.
P.S. ThisΒ Pottery Barn crystal chandelierΒ is now on sale!
