A while back, I found a set of 6 antique dining room chairs on Craigslist. I bought them because I love the shape and style of the chair, but the upholstery is awful, dirty, tearing at the seams and needs to be replaced.
After living in our new house for a few months, I am thinking about recovering them in a navy blue and white striped fabric. I think the stripes would make a huge statement that the dining room needs.

What do you think? Go for the stripes, spend the money to buy totally different chairs, or go a different route like below with a painted white frame with solid black fabric?
