Happy Friday friends! Rather than dedicating an entire post to each of my projects I thought I’d quickly sum them up into one. I recently ended my job with my dad’s practice which has allowed me to fully delve myself into mommyhood and design work. Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to lately with personal and client design projects.
First off, I’ve been wrapping up a big client project in Wicker Park. Here is a little sneak peek:
I found these chairs on the south side of Chicago on Craigslist. They were obviously destroyed by a cat in the past! I am going to revamp them for my client’s dining roomΒ with new fabric, a new stained frame, and new nailheads. Can’t wait! Here is the “before” picture:
Progress on my client’s bedroom. I love her Moroccan hanging lamps, bright white walls, greenery, white linen bedding and drapes, andΒ bone inlay side table. I threwΒ an indigo hammam throw overΒ her dark leather headboard which created a happy accident of a relaxed boho look for no money or effort. Still needs a lot of work (art, pillows, chair, lamp, throw) but it’s getting there.
Found this wingback chair in the FREEΒ section on Craigslist and am reupholstering it for my client in a sky gray blue fabric and we’re going to put it in the corner of herΒ bedroom.Β So excited!
Furniture delivery from Anthropologie. OMG NAVY VELVET SLIPPER CHAIR – I die. I just love this little moment. IΒ found that awesome brass console in the background on Craigslist for $80. So chic and such a steal!
Sourced this beautiful vintage Persian rug for my client’s guest room.
New lighting above herΒ kitchen island. IN LOVE!
Found this beautiful antique silvered mirror with weathered frame at a reuse depot for my client’s dining room.Β Pretty awesome if I say so myself.
Reclaimed wood and copper desk and shelves installed in herΒ office area.
Text update from another client’s kitchen remodel that I consulted on. Here is the before and after – it’s looking much lighter and brighter and more colorful in here! You can’t see them very well but I’m loving her new grey limestone floors!
Getting these beautiful paintings my mom and I got in Provence framed.Β
Loving this beautiful blue glass bowl I picked up at Target. I don’t know where to put it yet, it just made my heart sing so I got it. It will be a pretty accent piece on a shelf in the future.
Picking out fabrics for a new sofa! Long story but current fabric is pilling all over my sofa so Williams Sonoma has offered to replace it. BEST customer service ever. I really really want a white performance canvas fabric so my friend and I did a pork carnitas and guacamole test on it…
And the pork carnitas came out of the fabric in the wash with Oxiclean!! Yay! Laugh all you want, but this is what I really want.
Then figuring out what to do with this sad, empty spaceΒ – GAH! It used to be my office area but now that Oliver has outgrown his little corner on the rug we moved my desk into the bedroom and now we plan on converting this into a play area. I want to make it chic and functional because it is still *part* of my living room. Β My living is just all kinds of wrong right now and I really just want to updateΒ the whole thing with new table lamps (want something with COLOR!), pillowcases (again, MORE COLOR!), some DIY artwork (COLOR!), roman shades, coffee table or sofa table, and a rug and console table with baskets for the play area. The pieces there currently are just items I purchased too quickly (mostly on Craigslist/Target/Home Decorators/PB) when we moved in and did not think critically about.Β I certainly have ideas for what I want to do but I don’t want to rush into any decision too quickly and as always money is a huge issue so I have to be really choosy with my purchases.
My sister’s nursery is coming together. Still needs some styling and finishing touches but it’s getting there! And how perfect is her little bebe?!
My orange dresser project!! Haha I am still getting used to the color because it is majorly bright but after my eyes adjusted after a few days I liked it more. Added some fun rope knobs from Homegoods and it’s good to go.
I made a DIY capiz shell mirror for over my bed with a thrifted side table that wasn’t sturdy, some elbow grease, some glue, and a custom-cut mirror. Loving the beachy look and for only $60 it’s a much cheaper option than most of the capiz shell mirrors out there!
My amazing husband and dad working on a new walkway and play area in our backyard! Makes SUCH a huge difference. He’s also working on a new deck behind our house so I’ll be sure to post an update on that once it’s finished. Man I lucked out with this guy.
xoxo,
