My sweet baby boy is one year old today! My memories of his birth are still fresh in my mind, and I can’t believe how big he’s gotten since then. I know it’s hard for a lot of moms to swallow the reality of their kid’s first birthday, (or second, or third, or sixteenth for that matter), but I take comfort in knowing that we lived his first year to the fullest, and that I did my very best as a mom. Most days were awesome andΒ some days were really hard. Bring it on, toddlerhood.
Here are some fun things that Oliver is doing now:
He is standing and cruising and squatting, but not walking on his own yet.
He says “mama,” “dada,” “woof woof,” and “moo.” He signs “all done,” “mama’s nose,” “so big,” gives kisses, and blows bubbles on my legs.
He is obsessed with electronics of all kinds any anything with buttons – remote controls, phones, mouses, and the like.
He can practically house an entire watermelon.
He loves seeing other little people just like him and “flirts” with his eyes with other kids at the park. I can’t wait for him to start his Munchkins class this fall so he can have more quality time with other kids.
He shares his food with me and strokes my arm, which is just the sweetest thing ever and shows that he has compassion inside.
IΒ love every hair on his head, and I want the whole world for him! Happy birthday baby boy!
