Ever since designing Oliver’s nursery, I have become slightlyΒ obsessed with children’s spaces and am constantly curating new ones in my head and taking inspiration from others. If there’s any place in the house that you can have fun and take yourself a little bit less seriously, it’s here. I absolutely adoreΒ this room by Boston designerΒ Liz Caan for her little boy. ItΒ just exudes preppy and playful. I loveΒ the color combination of taupe, light blue, navy blue, crisp white, and tiny pops of lime green and red. The light blue and white striped wallpaper, vintage puppy poster (in the room’sΒ first iteration), sculpturalΒ lamp, huge round mirror, wood frames, taupe upholstered bed, navy bordered sheets, and bookshelf filled with colorful toys are simply perfection.
Here’s how I would get the look in a nursery setting (without using thousand-dollar linens):
Navy bordered blackout drapes / A framed and mattedΒ DIY dog silhouette using taupe and brown paper (I did this with my late dog using black and white paper and I love it!) / Mirror /Β ChandelierΒ / Drum Chandelier ShadeΒ (or DIY some with red grosgrain ribbon)Β / DresserΒ / Owl LampΒ (alternatively I love this one for a pop of color!) /Β Diaper Changing Cover /Β Striped WallpaperΒ / Navy bordered woven BasketsΒ /Β Whale PillowΒ / Dog Push Toy /Β Letter Pillow /Β Knit Lion DollΒ /Β RugΒ /Β Wingback RockerΒ /Β Monogrammed Crib SheetΒ / Jenny Lind CribΒ /Β Crib SkirtΒ (also like this one)
