With Thanksgiving around the corner, I wanted to remind myself to be grateful for everything and everyone I have in my life.
It’s so easy to forget about our blessings these days. One quick scroll through your Instagram feed can make you feel like you’re seriously lacking something in your life.
When I find myselfΒ lusting overΒ that new bag or that beautifully decorated home, jealous of the girl with the high-power career or the post-partum mom who magically lost all her baby weight and then some, I need to remind myself of myΒ most important blessing of all: my family.
I have this adorably hunkalicious husband who takes care of me and cooks me eggs and bacon while I nurse in the mornings and thenΒ does all the dishes without a peep. I mean, does it get any better than that? On top of being incredibly smart and kicking buttΒ as a doctor, he figures out how to fix things I will never understand like our radiator and plumbing. And instead of sending me to the looney bin when my mood gets sour from sleep deprivation, he tells me he loves me and reminds me that I’m being a good mom. Thank HEAVENSΒ for him.
Next I have this beautiful, perfectlyΒ healthy 3-month-old baby boy who coos and smiles back at me. Being him mom gives me the greatest joy in the world, even if he barfs on me all day and keeps me up up all night long. ;)
Then I have this sweet, gentle puppy (and another one in my heart up in heaven) with theΒ silliest little habits like hovering over you when you cross your legs, stealing the sofa when you leave the house, retrievingΒ rocks the size of boulders, licking your legs after applying lotion, and kissing Oliver’s face.
And to top it off, I have the most loving, most understanding, and smartest parents who always point me in the right direction, along with sixΒ amazingly successful siblings and numerous brothers and sisters in lawΒ whom I can always rely on for support and advice.
Pretty awesome right? I thought so. :)
xoxo and happy Thanksgiving!
