Ever since seeing this Pierre Bonnard painting in Paris, I find myself completely drawn to the color combination of a teal-y, aqua blue and bright, punchyΒ orange. Something about it just makes me so happy! And it looks even crisper when paired with navy and white. I am craving a little orange and aqua in my bedroom and got really inspired after picking up this beautiful aqua blue hammam throw in Provence. So now I have a little DIY project up my sleeve, and it may or may not involve dumping all of my husband’s clothes out of his ugly brown dresser and onto the floor (to his dismay), lugging it into the basement, and some punchy orange paint. :)
For now, some inspiration for my project:
AdoreΒ this dresser but I think the color is a little too deep/Hermes orange for the look I’m going for:
A vintage sideboard lacquered in a bright orange against aqua walls, love!!
A front door lacquered in Sherwin-Williams “Navel,” the same color I chose for my project:
And last but not least, my absolute most favorite bedroom ever, from Meg Shackleton of Margaret Elizabeth in San Francisco. The combination of the robin’s egg blue walls, crisp white sheets with navy border, orange dresser, orange throw, and live greenery is absolute perfection.
